‘통섭’이란 단어가 우리에게 익숙해지기도 전에 이미 부정적으로 느껴지는 지금, 그러나 그것이 또 하나의 전략적 선택이나 유행에 편승한 기획이 아니라면 여전히 본질적으로 유효함은 분명하다. 장인이 기존질서에 의해 분배된 장인의 이름을 받아들이는 순간 더 이상 그 예술은 정치적일 수 없다는 자크 랑시에르식 예술의 정치성과, 예술가들이 전문가들로 비쳐지거나 전문성의 특정한 영역들에 의해 정의되는 행위들로 국한되어서는 안된다는 찰스 에셔의 선언을 podo는 지지한다.

podo는 동시대 예술의 일반적 정보를 전달하는 사이트가 아니다. podo는 순수예술, 디자인, 건축, 미디어, 퍼포먼스등과 같은 동시대 예술의 경계를 공고히 하거나 그것을 심화하지 않는다. podo는 특정 대학의 학생들을 위한 교육용 사이트도 아니며, 영리를 목적으로 하거나 정보 권력을 지향하지도 않는다. podo는 차라리 와인이나 주스 혹은 어떤 방식으로 소비될지 알 수 없지만, 유기농 포도를 재배하는 조금 여유 있는 포도밭 주인 아저씨의 그것처럼, 이미 규정되어지고 ‘분배되어짐’을 거부하는 태도 또는 이러저러한 탈주들의 집합이라 할 것이다

Nowadays, even before we get accustomed to the term 'consilience', it seems to portray a negative tone despite it's certainty of still being essentially valid. As long as it is not another strategic choice or a plan of going with the flow of the fashionable trend. podo supports the political art theory of Jacques Ranciere - when an artisan who takes after the name of an artisan who is distributed by the pre-existing system, the art can no longer be political - and the statement by Charles Esche - artists should not be portrayed as a professional nor defined by only certain fields of profession.

podo is not a website that delivers general information on contemporary arts. podo does not secure boundaries nor deepen them in the contemporary art fields such as categorizing them as fine arts, design, architecture, media, and performance arts. podo is not an educational site for specific college students, nor intend to pursue commercial profit and information authority. But rather, like the mind of a vineyard owner who cultivates an organic field at ease , podo is a gathering of refugees from here and there, an attitude of refusing 'being distributed' and 'being already defined'.
